Dental implants are artificial tooth roots. They are shaped like a screw and are implanted with a minor operation. Osseointegration will take place, i.e. the bone will connect firmly to the implant after a few weeks and thus ensure a stable denture. Gaps in teeth are filled with implants. Implants also ensure a firm hold for dentures or even enable fixed teeth in the case of edentulism. Before starting treatment with dental implants, an initial examination must of course be carried out. In a detailed one-hour consultation, all necessary treatment steps are discussed with our extremely competent chief physician. In order for the dental implants to be inserted, a certain bone structure must be present. In order to be able to guarantee a particularly gentle and pain-free treatment, this treatment can also be carried out under general anesthesia if so desired. WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE OF AN IMPLANT TREATMENT? PLANNING THE DENTAL REPLACEMENT After the preparation, after it has been found that an implant treatment is possible, then the implantation can be planned. The planning is made using a 3D CBCT recording. On this CT scan you can see everything, how much bone substance there is and where the nerves are etc. During this planning, the exact treatment plan, the timing and the exact costs can be determined. PROCEDURE Dental implants are placed under sterile conditions, mostly under local anesthesia. It takes about 20 minutes to insert an implant. Anxious patients can also be treated under general anesthesia.
