The operation of implanting an ICL lens implies that the structure of the eye remains unchanged, which means that at any time and for any reason they can be removed and the condition returned to that of before the operation. In contrast, with LASIK intervention, a small part of the cornea is permanently removed, and with RLA (refractive lens replacement), the natural lens is replaced with an artificial (implant). ICL is performed by placing an extremely thin implant between the iris and the natural lenses, correcting the refractive error completely and providing excellent visual acuity. In this way, it is possible to correct myopia up to -23 diopters, farsightedness up to +12 and astigmatism up to 6 diopters. Unlike multifocal implants, this type of surgery does not require the removal of a natural lens, and the implant remains permanently in the eye. There is no need to use additional glasses or lenses after the operation. It is important that this operation cannot replace wearing glasses at close range in the event of presbyopia.
